Rishikesh, India
This and earlier chapters in India has taken me to the hills of the north a few times, including Manali, Kasol, Shimla and Kasauli. Rishikesh, although is just the beginning of the hills, came up as an opportunity recently to capture further travel images.
There was an indescribable intensity of spiritual energy in this place... There was of course the obvious visual forms such as Hindu temples, presence of many yoga and meditation teaching.. However, there was a very strong presence of varying energies from all sides of the spectrum which could only be felt.
Speaking personally, I found myself feeling a strong presence of the darker energies, in a crazy mix with everything in between.
IRAN - Shiraz & Esfahan in 5 days
Probably among the most awe inspring, vibrant and quirky countries I’ve visited to date - IRAN. In a team of Japanese women, we agreed on an intinerary to visit Isfahan and Shiraz in the 5 days we had availabe to us.
I cannot remember all the places we visited, but here are a few and highly recommended:
Persepolis, Shiraz
Nasir ol Molk Mosque (Pink Mosque), Shiraz
Hamze Shrine, Shiraz
Isfahan Bazaar
Foruzan Carpets, Isfahan
Abbasi Hotel, Isfahan
Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, Isfahan
Vank Cathedral (Armenian Church), Isfahan
VALHALLA editorial shot in TRØNDELAG, Norway
As I look back and recall all the commercial versus purely self-initiated creative shoots - this has to be among my favourite and epic to date. The story behind it and the images made possible because of it send me off into a dreamstate every time and makes me realise why I came into this industry.
The model seen here is Sandra M. (from Trend Models, Norway at the time)… We were struggling to find a model with the right look as it was all coming together at the last minute, so close to my date of departure from Norway. Maragareta, the stylist, suggested Sandra whom I hadn’t seen on the main board of Trend Models and I wondered “why wasn’t she there as option of intown talent?” Turns out she was actually in the Kids section and was only 12 years old at the time!
